Dev Anand is one of the most successful actors of his time and even today the stardom which he had received no one till now. The actor enjoyed a massive fan following. His career spanned nearly 6 decades and enjoyed a huge fan following, especially among women. On his Death Anniversary let us have a look on his Journey.

Dev Anand popularly known as that Dev Saheb used to serve in the army before acting. Apart from being an actor, Dev Sahab was also a film writer, director and producer. He was also the co-founder of Navketan Films. He is counted among the greatest and most successful actors in Bollywood history. He was born in Shankargarh, Punjab (now in Pakistan), Dev Anand studied in English from Lahore but the desire for cinema brought him to Mumbai. Dev Anand, has worked in more than 100 films, his real name was Dharmadev Pishorimal Anand.

When Dev Anand came to Mumbai, he had only 30 rupees with him. He took a cheap room at the railway station and also worked in an office. He used to narrate the letters of the soldiers to their families in the office. He used to get 165 rupees a month for this work. Due to hard work and dedication, he got a job in the Military Censor Office. After some time, Dev Anand Saheb left the job to try his luck in acting.

The actor got his first break in 1946 in Prabhat Talkies' film Hum Ek Hain. During its shooting in Poona, he befriended the superstar of his time, Guru Dutt. After some time, he got a big breakthrough Ashok Kumar and it was Bombay Talkies Production's film Ziddi. Released in 1948, this film became a huge hit and Dev Sahab also became a hit.

He was one of the most handsome actors in the industry. Speaking about his love life. Actress Suraiya had become crazy about him in the first meeting.  He was also in deeply in love with her but their love story remained unfulfilled. You would be surprised to know that the real name of the person whom the world used to call Dev Sahib was something else. Dev Anand, who has worked in more than 100 films, was Dharmadev Pishorimal Anand.

Dev Anand has worked in more than 100 films and has entertained us with films like Guide, Hare Krishna Hare Ram, Des Pardes holds a special place in everyone's heart. Not only in reel life, but in real life as well, the late actor had an aura that could attract anyone.
