Recite these proverbs to please Lord Vishnu
Story - In ancient times, a demon named Jalandhar had created a big trouble all around. He was very brave and mighty. The secret of his heroism was the virtuous religion of his wife Vrinda. He remained victorious under the influence of that. Due to the disturbance of Jalandhar, the gods went to Lord Vishnu and pleaded for protection. Hearing their prayer, Lord Vishnu decided to dissolve Vrinda's piety. He took the form of Jalandhar and touched Vrinda with deceit. Jalandhar, Vrinda's husband, was fighting mightily with the gods, but Vrinda's sattva was killed as soon as it was destroyed. As soon as Vrinda's saintliness dissolved, Jalandhar's head fell in her courtyard. When Vrinda saw this, she became angry and wanted to know who he was then. Vishnu was standing in front of him. She cursed Lord Vishnu, 'Just as you have surrendered my husband with deceit, in the same way, your wife will also be deceived and you will also be born in the death world to suffer female separation.' On saying this, Vrinda became sati with her husband. It was due to the curse of Vrinda that Lord Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya and he had to suffer Sita. Tulsi plant was produced in the place where Vrinda sati.

Story 2- In another story, the beginning is the same, but in this story, Vrinda cursed Vishnu that you have broken my sattva. Therefore, you will become a stone. This stone is called Shaligram. Vishnu said, 'O Vrinda! I respect your chastity but you will always be with me as basil. Every person who wishes to marry me on the day of Kartik Ekadashi will be fulfilled. Worshipping Shaligram or Vishnu without Tulsi will consider as incomplete. The marriage of Shaligram and Tulsi is considered a symbolic marriage of Lord Vishnu and Mahalakshmi.

Due to this, Devthani Ekadashi is considered very special
