Beijing: Pixel Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 are likely to face direct competition from Xiaomi, which is gearing up to release a new Wear OS 3-based smartwatch.

For quite some time now, the company has been active in a niche segment of the smartwatch industry. The Xiaomi Watch S1 and Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro models, for example, run MIUI Watch OS, which has been heavily modified and forked from Google Wear OS.

The Pixel Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 may face direct competition from Xiaomi, which is gearing up to release a new Wear OS 3-based smartwatch.

For quite some time now, the company has been active in a niche segment of the smartwatch industry. The Xiaomi Watch S1 and Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro models, for example, run MIUI Watch OS, which has been heavily modified and forked from Google Wear OS.

Even though it will be different from the rest of Xiaomi's latest products, you can guess the new item to use the Xiaomi Watch name.

Possibly due to different expectations that fans of the earlier watches may have had, as the report notes, this could be a sticking point.

Despite not having as many features or a wide range of apps as watches like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 or the Google Pixel Watch, Xiaomi's smartwatch has better battery life.

Unlike the above Wear OS 3 smartwatches that struggle to last more than two days, the recently released Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro can last up to two weeks on a single charge.
