DEHRADUN: Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, said on Thursday that the country will boycott Congress and its partners in the future after the opposition parties declared they wouldn't attend the opening of the new Parliament building.

Twenty opposition parties in total, including the Congress, have declared they will skip the new Parliament building's inauguration. The decision by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the structure without President Droupadi Murmu "insults the high office of the President and violates the letter and spirit of the Constitution," they  said.

Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Vande Bharat Express in Uttarakhand. For the Vande Bharat Express, I thank the PM. This will help all pilgrims and visitors to the state, said Dhami in advance of the launch of the Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express.

The indigenously manufactured Vande Bharat Express, which is outfitted with cutting-edge safety features like the Kavach technology, will be flagged off by PM Modi via video conference from Dehradun to Delhi, according to an official announcement.

This will be Uttarakhand's first introduction to Vande Bharat.  read a press release from the Prime Minister's Office, it would usher in a new era of convenient travel experiences, especially for tourists visiting the state.

With this,  the state's entire rail route will be entirely electrified. Increased speed and increased freight capacity will result from trains using electric traction on the electrified portions.
