As today the five days long festival of Diwali has been started and it begins with ' Dhanteras' people are looking for gold and jewellery inspired by Bollywood movies such as Baahubali and Padmavati are in huge demand. Indians really attract towards gold and we don’t really need an occasion to invest in gold, but Dhanteras is a time when investment is also about scoring the best that the market has to offer.

But this year people are looking forward towards the new trend among buyers is leaning towards popular Bollywood epics. And, customers want set pieces customised to look like they are straight out of the movie! The jewellery is worn by actor Deepika Padukone in the trailer of her upcoming movie Padmavati which is going to hit the theatres in (2017), and the ones adorned by actor Tamannaah Bhatia in Baahubali are the flavour of the season.

Ankit Gupta, the owner of Roop Jewellers in Chandni Chowk, says, “The trend of polka jewellery started during Jodhaa Akbar(2008). These days hand ball earrings (gold diamond polki) are in trend as Deepika Padukone is seen wearing them in Padmavati (2017). Logon ko wohi pasand hai, jo latest Hota hai (People like to go for whatever is latest). Customers often get a picture of whichever jewellery piece they want to get made. The price range starts from Rs 60,000 and goes up to Rs 5 lakh, depending on the make and craft. Each piece is customised according to the budget of the customer.”
