Dhanush has won the hearts of not only south India but also in all over the country. But it seems that actor has also impressed the international audience. He has made his debut in the West with the film The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir which is directed by Ken Scott. Dhanush plays a rural young Indian in the film and is on a journey across Europe and what transpires while he travel forms the story. Well, Dhanush has added another feather to his cap with his debut foreign film.

The film has bagged an international award. The film has won the Audience Award for Best Comedy at the Barcelona Sant-Jordi International Film Festival. The film that was screened last year in France is all set to release this year in India.

The film is based on a book of the same title The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, which was released in 2014. The story is about a boy Ajatushatru, played by Dhanush, who is on a journey to find his missing father. The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir also stars Bérénice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi and Erin Moriarty in important roles.

The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir will also have a Tamil version, which is titled as Vazhkaiya Thedi Naanum Ponaen.
