Dhanush Srikanth wins yet another medal for India in Suhal Junior World Cup

Dhanush Srikanth won India's third gold medal in the men's 10m air rifle event at the ISSF Junior World Cup Shooting Championship in Suhl, Germany on Monday. Dhanush scored 249.4 in the 24-shot final, beating Sweden's silver medallist Pontus Kalin by 1.3 points. France's Romain Aufrere has also won the bronze medal. India also won a bronze medal in the skeet mixed team event.  

Harmeher Laly and Sanjana Sood won the medal by defeating Sweden's David Johnson and Felicia Ross in the shoot-off. India now topped the medal tally with three gold, one silver and two bronze. America is in second place with 2 gold and one silver. Three shooters from the men's 10m air rifle India have made it to the finals. Dhanush qualified for the final by finishing sixth with a score of 628.4. Pratham Bhadana shot 628.7 to finish fifth ahead of Dhanush in the qualification. Abhinav Shaw, who won the gold medal in the air rifle mixed team event on Sunday, scored 626.7 points and made it to the final by finishing 8th.  

However, Abhinav has been eliminated in the final by finishing 7th while the first one finished fourth. Dhanush performed well from the beginning in the final and maintained a consistent lead and did not provide an opportunity to any of his opponents. Apart from Harmehar and Sanjana, Ritu Raj Bundela and Raija Dhillon also participated in the skeet mixed team event but the Indian pair finished seventh in qualifying with a score of 134.
