Bengaluru: After the collapse of the four-story building under construction in Dharwar in North Karnataka on March 19, relief and rescue work is going on till now. So far, the number of people killed in this accident has gone up to 15 while 56 others are being reported as injured. On Friday morning, rescue teams have taken a man alive from the wreck. The death toll in the Dharwad building collapse in Karnataka rose to fourteen on Friday. Assistant Commissioner, Dharwad sub-division told reporters that as many as 56 people have been rescued while 12 are still missing.

The work of extracting debris has already been done since the incident on Tuesday. The condition of many people injured in this accident was very serious. The body was recovered from the rubble itself on Tuesday. On Friday, the number grew rapidly and reached 15. At present, relief and rescue operations are on. District commissioner Deepa Cholan has said that on Thursday we saved two people. So far 15 people have died. Three more peoples are still buried in debris. We have given them ORS and oxygen supply. NDRF and SDRF teams are engaged in rescue work. Police also arrested the building's design engineer Vivek Pawar while four other accused are at large including the relative of former Karnataka minister Vinay Kulkarni, police sources said.
