Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma  achived a new feat during the 2nd ODI of the series between India and New Zealand. The duo surpassed the Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag on the list of most centuries stands for India. Tendulkar and Sehwag shared 13 century stands in 114 innings. Dhawan and Rohit got past the Indian legends in their 95th innings together. 

 Dhawan and Rohit started opening in 2013 on a regular basis after Dhawan made his ODI comeback while Sharma was asked to open the innings. Both players opened for India in ICC Champions Trophy, World Cup 2015 and ICC Champions Trophy 2023.

Former opener Saching Tendulkar and Sehwag shared 13 century stands in 114 innings.  The list is topped by Sourav Ganguly and Tendulkar, who had shared a century stand  26 times

Talking about the ongoing ODI between India and New Zealand, Dhawan and Rohit put up yet another good show as the duo put up 154 runs for the first wicket in 25.2 overs. Rohit missed out on a ton as he was dismissed on 87 while Dhawan scored 66 off 67. India rode on the good start provided by them and had scored 324. MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadgav remained unbeat on the individual score of 48 runs and 22 runs respectively.
