Here is our initial assessment of the highly anticipated show Sherdil Shergill, which debuted on September 26 and stars Surbhi Chandna and Dheeraj Dhoopar. The first scene of the show introduces Surbhi, played by Manmeet Shergill, as a successful architect who is brutally honest and who is clearly irritated and angry by Raj Kumar Yadav's antics. The identity of Raj is not entirely made clear in the first episode, but certain passages raise the possibility that he is the other lead.
Manmeet portrays a single mother who enrolls her son in school and encounters inquiries such as "Who is the father," "Why is there no father," and "Modern girls don't need a partner." Surprisingly, Manmeet plays very coolly and exhibits no reaction.
It also provides a glimpse into Manmeet, the family's apple-eyed daughter with lofty ambitions, and how one simple action can strain her relationship with her father. Additionally, it is demonstrated that Manmeet has a sister who is engaged and whose in-laws want the elder to attend the wedding because they have been greatly influenced by her notoriety.
The background of Manmeet quickly becomes clear, revealing that she did prepare for an arranged marriage and also said yes to a guy. Manmeet, on the other hand, witnesses the guy who receives a job in Dubai and a house right in front of Burj Khalifa shattering her dream of creating a structure to rival it.
Manmeet is scorned and cursed by her father while she refuses the guy, who says, "You will die alone." How outdated!
Manmeet chooses an IVF as a result of her decision to embrace her desire to have children. You will cringe to your very core when you hear Manmeet's father say, "uss cheez ko mat leke aana," in reference to her son.
Speaking of Dheeraj Dhoopar, who plays Raj Kumar Yadav, he portrays a grating young man, or, to put it another way, "bade baap ka bigda hua aulaad." Raj is immediately shown the mirror by Manmeet, who declares, "You are a product of nepotism." You'll initially think that was a Koffee with Karan episode.
With two well-known players paired together for the first time, Sherdil Shergill appears promising. It will be intriguing to see how Manmeet's story develops and how Raj decides to pursue a career as a stand-up comic because, up until this point, we haven't seen any amusing aspects of him.
Overall, Manmeet and the young child who portrays her son have a very endearing relationship. The pairing of Surbhi and Dheeraj is also quite novel. Additionally, Surbhi underplays Manmeet in comparison to how well her character has been developed, and we would like to see a little bit more of her fierce and feisty side.
