Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswamy tweeted on Sunday about the retirement of MS Dhoni, former captain of the Indian cricket team. During this, he said, 'His name will be etched in history.' Dhoni has announced his retirement on Instagram post. He has said goodbye to international cricket, but in IPL he is still going to retain his flames. DMK President MK Stalin said, 'Dhoni's era will be remembered and his "agile captaincy" will be credited.'

Apart from this, actor-politician Kamal Haasan praised Dhoni's self-confidence. LDhoni has led Team India in 3 ICC Trophy in which he has also made his team the winner. This list also includes T20 World Cup 2007, 2011 World Cup and Champions Trophy 2013. Earlier, Dhoni made a post and in his post, he wrote, 'Thank you for your love and support so far. Think me retired from 07:29 in the evening.'
Shortly after Dhoni's retirement, Suresh Raina also shared a picture with Kedar Jadhav, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Karn Sharma and Monu Singh from his official Instagram. While sharing that picture, he wrote in the caption, 'It was great to play with you, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. With all my heart, I want to join you in this journey. Thanks india Jai Hind.'
