Kolkata: A round of debate is going on between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is continuing ahead of the forthcoming assembly elections in West Bengal. Accepting the challenge given by CM Mamata Banerjee, Suvendu Adhikari has announced to contest from Nandigram seat. The state BJP chief Dilip Ghosh has reacted and targeted the TMC.

Dilip Ghosh has said on Tuesday, who knows Nandigram better than Suvendu? It is in his hands. If he has said, he can do it. He targeted the state government and said, "The attack on our rally tomorrow is nothing new, the TMC party will remain in politics till then. We are doing politics on the basis of the Constitution in a democratic system and that is how Bengal will change. The change is increasing as much as it is approaching." Dilip Ghosh further said, "We had halved the TMC in 2019 and will wipe it out in 2021."

The BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari yesterday accepted the challenge given by CM Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal to contest from Nandigram in her assembly constituency and said that he would defeat her (Mamata) in the elections, otherwise he would leave politics. However, Suvendu also said that the final decision on the candidates will be taken by the BJP leadership after detailed discussion, not as if the ruling TMC is in an arbitrary manner. Earlier in the day, Banerjee shocked everyone by announcing to contest the assembly elections from Nandigram in the day. In the last election, the officer won the TMC ticket on the seat.
