Diljit Dosanjh was born on 6 January 1984 in Dosanjh Kalan, Jalandhar city of Punjab. His father Balbir Singh was an employee of Punjab Roadways and his mother Sukhwinder Kaur was a homemaker. After spending his entire childhood in Dosanjh Kalan, he came to Ludhiana with family. He had an interest in music since childhood. While he was in school, he used to attend kirtan in local gurdwaras. Thus began their singing career. Diljit is best known for his Punjabi songs before his acting.
His debut album was 'Ishq Da Uda Ada' which released in 2004. This was followed by their second album Dil released. Diljeet became very popular after the release of the third album Smile. Then there was love, chocolate and then singles - Bhagat Singh, No Tension, Power of Duets, Dance with Me. He released his sixth album, The Next Level, in collaboration with Honey Singh. It had 9 songs which became very popular.
Diljit Dosanjh took entry in mainstream Punjabi films in 2011. He was given the lead character in the film Lion of Punjab. The film did not performed well but its song 'Lakh 28 Kudi Da' proved super hit. His track with Honey Singh was number 1 on the official Asian Download chart of America. Diljit has sung many superhit songs which are making headlines. He openly discusses about professional life, but he remains silent on his marriage. According to reports, Diljit's wife is named Sandeep Kaur and has a son. According to the news, everything is not right between the two, due to which Diljit never mention about them.
