Dipa Karmakar,the Indian gymnast has scripted a history ;after became the first Indian to qualify for vault finals in the artistic Gymnastics in her debut in the Rio Olympics.

Karmakar has reached the final of equipment after concluding eighth in the qualifying round with a total score of 14.850 in two vaults.

Dipa; the country's first woman gymnast to qualify Olympics, scored 15.100 on the first vault through her Prodonova and later on her second the Tsukahara, with scored 14.860, with 6.000 for difficulty and scored 8.860 in execution.

The girl from Tripura had ended sixth after the third of five subdivisions but was dropped to eighth after Candian Shallon Oslens scored 14.950 and reshuffled the overall position.

Dipa Karmakar will play the finals on August 14.
