After this incident, Mahesh lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police' Anti Extortion Cell. It is now reported that the police has arrested a person taking immediate action in this case. Recently the police arrested a 23-year-old man from Ratnagiri and now the police is ascertaining whether his link is with the underworld don or not.

Regarding the matter, Mahesh Manjrekar told that "As soon as the message came to him, he immediately informed the police about it, which made the task of the police easy".
