Filmmaker Vikram Kumar, best known for making Suriya's 24, got engaged to sound designer Srinidhi Venkatesh on Sunday at a private ceremony in Chennai.

Srinidhi works as a sound engineer with AR Rahman and the two met during their music sessions for the film.

Vikram will now work on his next project after the wedding. He will reportedly team up with actor Allu Arjun for a thriller.

A source close to Vikram said, "It was while working on 24 that they met for the first time and by the time they wrapped the project, they grew fond of each other. They got engaged in a close-knit ceremony on Sunday and are planning to get married in September".

The wedding is slated to take place in September.
