Researchers have found the biggest single celled organism in the world. This seaweed, green algae is about 30cm long single celled organism. Its surface is frond like structure. It is termed to be 'coenocytic' which means single celled organism with multiple nuclei.
Previously when researchers examined this algae they terminated the research due to its multiple nuclei character, predicting it to be multi cellular. Later on, when this algae was re-examined, it is found that it has indivisible multiple nucleus, which termed it as a single celled organism.
