Mohini tells her friends that she owns a laundry store and introduces Aparajita to them. Aparajita responds appropriately to the taunts made by Mohini's friend. Mohini's friends question her about why she invited them and urge her to invite them all while she has the legal right to be in this house. It is Mohini's home, she declares. Aparajita is blessed by the pandit, who also gives her the Navaratri Kalash. Aparajita is instructed by Mohini to give the Kalash to Akshay, who will perform the pooja along with her.

Aparajita is questioned angrily by Mohini as to why she is unable to grant her request. Aparajita queries how she is permitted to perform the pooja despite having a right to do so. Aparajita is asked by Akshay to stop displaying rights that she does not possess. Amma cautions him not to speak to her in that manner. Mohini, not Aparajita, is the daughter-in-law, according to Akshay. Aparajita sobs when Akshay reminds her of the reasons, he left her. Aparajita should stop claiming ownership of this property, according to Akshay, since she is not his wife. Disha, Asha, and Chavi enter the residence.
