BANGALORE: Every police officer working in the fight against terrorism should exercise extreme caution as divisive forces have infiltrated all areas of society, said  Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking after paying tributes on the Police Commemoration Day in Bangalore, Bommai  said, "The history of the Karnataka Police is extensive. Police have lost their lives while on duty frequently. The population is growing, while harmful forces on the national and international levels work to sabotage social harmony." "Laws are created to stop crimes after they occur. However, it is necessary to plan for each potential crime long in advance and to enact the legislation appropriately "He said.

Bommai said, the police force need modern weapons. If senior police officers do their duties effectively, the lower-ranking cops will naturally follow their superiors.

"While the government and society appreciate your good work, it is also their responsibility to take the families of police officers into account. To keep society's law and order, police play a crucial role " he said.

Karnataka outperforms other states in terms of providing amenities for the police. With the hiring of 4,000–5,000 police officers each year, the recruiting rate is high, he said.

"The police must gain more public trust, and appointments must be made without corruption. The current administration is doing the same thing. Cybercrime awareness and introduction must be covered in police training.

"Over the past year, there has been a rise in police station building. All police stations should have their own structures within the upcoming year. It has been agreed to establish a separate command specifically for the training requirements of police inspectors and deputy superintendents of police.

"The government wants to further reform the police force by creating a police museum, enhancing the ATS, building more jails, etc. The cops are constantly accompanied by the government" he concluded.
