Unnao rape case: DM Devendra Kumar to testify against accused Kuldeep Singh Sengar today

Lucknow: Unnao District Magistrate Devendra Kumar Pandey will appear in the Court today (Thursday) in connection with the beating of the victim's father in the Unnao rape case. In the Arms Act registered by the CBI, the court has summoned  Unnao DM to testify.  The CBI had registered a case against the accused MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, including the then Makhi SO, SI KP Singh and others. The CBI had registered a case under the 120B and Arms Act.

The Court in Delhi has framed charges in trapping victim's father in a false arms case  and death on police custody. The court, while hearing last Tuesday, prima facie found that there was a major conspiracy in the case.  According to the court, the police had arrived on the spot, but he did not intervene. As well as the post-mortem report, there were 14 serious injury marks on the body of the victim's father.

The father of the rape victim had come on a hearding from Delhi on April 3, 2018 and had reached the village to give medicine to his mother. Meanwhile, MLA's brother Atul Sengar, along with his teammates Tinku, Sonu, Vineet, beat him up. The police had then filed a report in the Arms Act against the victim's father. The investigation found that the perpetrators had given the police a pistol and told them to meet the victim's father.
