New Delhi: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is aiming to have at least one ATM at each metro station in Delhi-NCR.  the installation of ATMs at all the metro stations of Delhi-NCR will reflect positively on the revenue for DMRC and will be an advantage for Delhi metro passengers.

DMRC spokesperson to to TOI that  Currently there are  175 stations already that have one or more ATMs, but with the rapid expansion in 2018, the idea is to cover the entire network with the facility in 2019. He further added that DMRC has called Expression of Interest for licensing open space to Scheduled Commercial Banks and non-bank entities incorporated in India under Companies Act 1956 for the installation of ATMs”.

As per reports, DMRC has been offering dedicated space to banks to place the ATM kiosks and the total number of ATMs is likely to touch 500-mark.  According to news agency PTI, "Service providers may be forced to close down almost 1.13 lakh ATMs across the country by March 2019. These numbers include approximately one lakh off-site ATMs and a little over 15,000 white label ATMs.
