Chandigarh: Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, who has been supporting the farmers' movement and their demands so far, has now changed his mood. Yes, he attended a function in the Hoshiarpur district last Monday. Addressing the function here, he appealed to the farmers to go to Delhi and Haryana instead of Punjab if they have to agitate. Addressing the gathering, CM said, "This is causing economic loss to the state and if they have to demonstrate, they should go to Delhi and Haryana instead of Punjab.'' In fact, CM had arrived at Mukhilana in Hoshiarpur to lay the foundation stone of a government college and that is where he said this.

In his further address, he said, "Farmers' agitation is going on at 113 places in the state and these agitations are affecting the economic condition of the state.'' He also said, "If farmers have to stage a strike, they should go to Haryana and Delhi instead of Punjab.'' At the same time, he attacked the Shiromani Akali Dal over new agricultural laws. He said, "The Badal family is now talking against them, but when the bills were being prepared, it was also agreed by the Shiromani Akali Dal. Harsimrat Kaur Badal was the Union minister and Prakash Singh Badal himself was in support of the new laws. But their attitude changed when the farmers themselves came out in protest.''

Attacking the Central Government, he said, "The Constitution has been amended 127 times so far. Why can't this be done once again for the interests of the farmers? We have given a relief of Rs.5 lakhs and a job to the families of every farmer who died during the farmer's agitation.''
