Ranchi: After the incident of assault with a doctor during treatment at Sadar Hospital in Deoghar, Jharkhand, 19 doctors have collectively resigned. In the letter submitted to the Civil Surgeon, the doctors have written that if action is not taken against the accused soon, then the agitation will be intensified. Now all the doctors of the entire district have gone on strike. Doctors say that those who attacked are associated with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Jharkhand IMA Secretary Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh said that if action is not taken against the accused, the doctors of the entire state will go on strike.

In fact, on May 17, a PCR van brought an accidental patient to the Sadar Hospital in Deoghar. After which on duty doctor Kundan Kumar started his treatment. During the treatment, the doctor went to the dressing room to get something. Meanwhile, the relatives who came with the patient started a ruckus. Alleging negligence in the treatment, the doctor was thrashed and beaten up. In such a situation, the doctors called an emergency meeting. It was decided in the meeting that till all the five nominees are not arrested, all the doctors along with the emergency service will keep the OPD service closed. Along with this, 19 doctors also resigned collectively.

Jharkhand IMA secretary Dr. Pradeep Kumar has said that if no action is taken against the accused, the doctors of the entire state will go on strike. At present, no doctors are doing treatment in Deoghar. Police have arrested two persons. But still the doctors are adamant on the demand for arrest. The doctors are demanding to deploy four policemen in Deoghar Sadar Hospital for 24 hours. Along with this, for personal security in the hospital, they are asking for a license of arms.
