Mumbai: A 26-year-old woman committed suicide at college hostel. The deceased was identified as Payal Tadvi, who hanged herself after performing two surgeries on Wednesday.
According to the report, Tadvi's parents have demanded that an FIR for abetment to suicide, ragging be registered besides sections under the Atrocities Act against three doctors at the hospital who allegedly tortured her to end her life.
As per the report of Times of India, three doctor students- Hema Ahuja, Bhakti Mehar and Ankita Khandaliwal have been booked for abetment to suicide, under Atrocities Act.
Meanwhile, Tadvi's cousin told TOI that she had told them about constant mental torture by her three seniors just because she belonged to a lower caste. An accidental death report has been lodged at the Agripada police station.
Tadvi's mother told TOI that on Wednesday her daughter called her cried told her about mental torture by these three accused doctors. She added, that these doctors had created a WhatsApp group where they would tease her with casteist slurs and these chats have been submitted to the police.
