Gujarat:  The Surat rural police booked a doctor and his wife from Vadodara district for kidnapping a child. The police cracked the case after 6 years.

R B Bhator, an officer with Kamrej police, said to the media " It was in January 2017,  that Khathor's Sufiyaben had delivered a baby boy at the Primary Health Centre. On the night after the delivery, the baby went missing. A complaint was registered with the Kamrej police station." After several years, the child reported missing in 2017 was located with Dr. Kamlesh Ode and his wife Nayna, who both reside in Karjan, according to a call the police received. A police squad was dispatched, and the couple and a six-year-old son were taken to Kamrej.

The policeman stated that Dr. Kamlesh was sent to Kamrej in 2017 and is currently working for the 108 medical emergency service. His wife Nayna experienced a miscarriage. She had experienced two to three miscarriages after becoming pregnant, so the pair decided to kidnap a baby.

In order to carry out the plan, the woman went to the primary health centre where she pretended to receive the child's vaccinations before abducting him. After committing the offence, Dr Kamrej got himself transferred to Karjan and since then they were living in Karjan and had taken good care of the child, the police officer's statement read.
