NEW DELHI: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has once again decided to go on a nation-wide strike to protest against the NMC Bill 2019. The IMA's Emergency Extended Action Committee has announced a nationwide strike on Thursday. The Association will not provide any service from 6 am to 6 pm on 8th August. IMA National President Dr. Shantanu Sen said the NMC Bill 2019 will not be accepted in the medical field.

This will adversely affect the economically weaker patients. Doctors are demanding that the Government of India involve the modern medical fraternity in the main discussion and address the issue expeditiously. Also, revise the main concerns of the bill. The IMA will continue this fight and take the issue to the people at large. It is said that under Section 51 of the Bill, the Combined Modules and Curriculum Materials are being prepared and talked about the combined session of the NMC with the Homeopathy and AYUSH Councils.

According to the IMA, all doctors undergraduate from the medical college will be hybrid doctors and all systems will be contaminated due to crossway. Section 51 will promote cross-pathy by providing bridge courses to the state government. Section 15 is a matter of concern for the medical students and we are not satisfied with whatever clarifications have been given. Moreover, they did not include them in this Bill. In the past month, the IMA has gone on strike across the country.
