Patna: Doctors and nurses working in government hospitals of Bihar will be posted in their home district. Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav made this announcement while launching the Sarvajan Dava Sevan campaign to eradicate Filaria in 24 districts of the state. The Deputy CM himself started the campaign by consuming medicine along with departmental officers in a program organized at Gyan Bhavan.
On the same occasion, while referring to the schemes being run by the department, he said that the efforts of the government will be fruitful only when we work as a team. It is the effort of the government that the medical workers do not face any problems. For this, doctors and nurses will be posted in the home district. There will be a rejuvenation of hospitals. New buildings will be constructed in place of old buildings and some will be renovated. For the convenience of the patients, the department will provide one lakh 60 thousand jobs.
Health Secretary K. Senthil Kumar said that in this campaign all the beneficiaries will be given medicines in the presence of health workers. Health Secretary cum Executive Director of the State Health Committee Sanjay Kumar Singh said that filarial infection in any age group damages the lymphatic system. Dr. Bhupendra Tripathi, Country Lead, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, suggested that there is a need to create awareness in society. Health Advisor KC Saha, SPO Dr. Ranjit Kumar, and Dr. Abhishek Kumar Sinha, Dr. Rajesh Pandey were present on the occasion. There is an outbreak of filariasis in 72 countries of the world. This disease is spread in 18 states of India. At present, about 95 thousand patients of filariasis and about 17 thousand patients of hydrogel have been identified in Bihar. The department has started the world's biggest 14-day campaign.
