New Delhi: Recently, a clubhouse chat went viral on social media in which veteran Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh was heard saying that it was sad to abolish Article 370 and the Congress would reconsider it once it came to power. On this, his younger brother Laxman Singh has said that it is not possible to re-impose Section 370.

However, the Congress has been on the backfoot ever since the clubhouse chat went viral and its leaders are not able to defend Digvijay Singh in any way. Many Congress leaders are calling it Digvijay Singh's personal opinion. The BJP has been constantly questioning Digvijay Singh on the issue but the entire Congress party, including the Madhya Pradesh state unit, is not able to openly respond to the BJP's allegations. In a tweet, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad demanded congress to clarify its stand on the matter.

"The Congress is still silent on whatever Digvijaya Singh said about Section 370. Does the Congress want to restore Section 370? Let the Congress clarify its intention. He also said that when Section 370 was being abolished, a better administration was promised to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the rapid pace at which Covid-19 vaccination is going on at a rapid pace in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh remote areas is a sign of better administration."
