Michelle Branch was arrested for domestic assault nearly two weeks, however, the case has now been dismissed at the request of the state this Wednesday (Aug. 24), as confirmed by Billboard.

The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney and the vocalist of "Everywhere" were living together when Nashville police were summoned to their home to investigate a probable domestic disturbance on August 11. Branch was detained for misdemeanour domestic abuse, according to a copy of the arrest report that Billboard was able to get, and was later freed after posting a $1,000 bond.

The incident happened after Branch implied in a since-deleted tweet that the drummer had committed adultery. Branch filed for divorce on August 15 on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.

“To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family. The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward,” Branch previously shared in a statement to People upon news of the former couple’s split. “With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”

The musicians wed in New Orleans in April 2019 after three years of marriage. They have a 4-year-old boy and a 6-month-old daughter who they share. Branch has a daughter, age 17, from her first marriage to bassist Teddy Landau, from which she divorced in 2014. Carney has been married before, however, he has no children from either of those unions with Denise Grollmus or Emily Ward.
