Many of us easily depress and probably give up when something not going as we want in our life. But the Hero is not who do big things in the world but the Hero is who stand with courage after the fall.

And we are talking about one of those hero who didn’t gave up, who stand bravely and fight furiously and getting her way superbly, who rewrote her life after a cruel twist of fate is a story that’s been heard of and told several times. This is the story of Laxmi, an acid attack survivor.

Laxmi and her incredible journey setting a bright example for young girls from across the India.

Laxmi Aggarwal was a young bubbly girl in her teens who really fond of study, sing, dance like most of girls in her age. She loved to spend time with her friends. But a very unfortunate, unforeseen incident happened which wound her and her dreams.

In 2005, Naeem Khan whom laxmi used to call bhaiyya(brother) threw acid on Laxmi just because she refused his proposal and since then nothing was the same again. Her face was 45 per cent burnt. And between 2005-2009 she went through 7 surgeries. But as brave girl ‘She Rise’ and nothing stopped her to do what she really wants to. And she started a successful campaign called ‘Stop Acid Attack’ and helping girls like her to find relevant rehabilitation and employment and she is working continuously to take the level on the sky.

Meanwhile, something happened beautiful with Laxmi because Alok happened. Talking about her love life in March 2013 she approached by an NGO, Chhanv Foundation and Alok Dixit was a founder and working with acid attack victims. And that’s where they met and started working together towards uplifting and rehabilitation of survivors, they visit police station and hospitals and somewhere between all of that both fell in love with each other. Laxmi says ‘I liked about him is he never looked at me with sympathy. I could see traces of my father in him’.

She inspires all the women to chase her dreams and find courage to challenge her own boundaries and find her true happiness. People will always fall you down but it takes courage to stand and fight back.
