The commission has refused to impose any penalty for Reliance Jio. However, Reliance Jio has also failed to provide quality service to users. According to a DoT official, the DCC has slapped fines on Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea for not providing interconnection to Reliance Jio. However, the Commission has also sought suggestions from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India had imposed a total fine of Rs 3,050 crore on the three companies in October 2016 following a petition filed by Reliance Jio. TRAI had imposed a fine of Rs 1,050 on Airtel and Vodafone, while Idea Cellular was fined Rs 950 crore. As you know Vodafone and Idea's business is now merged, the total penalty for these two companies will have to be paid. At that time, these companies were not providing a point of interconnectivity with the new-eyed company Reliance Jio.

For your information, the authority did not accept the proposal to revoke the licenses of these companies at that time because it would cause inconvenience to millions of users. TRAI, while hearing Reliance Jio's proposal, had decided that more than 75 percent of Reliance Jio's calls failed because these companies did not provide a suitable point of interconnection for calls. DCC members did not agree on the charge of not providing better service to customers. A penalty that has not been imposed on Reliance Jio.
