New Delhi: After the resignation of Arvind Panghariya, Vice President of the country's first Policy Commission, Dr Rajiv Kumar has now been appointed as the new Vice-Chairman of the Policy Commission. Dr Vinod Paul has been made a member of the Policy Commission, with the appointment of Dr Rajiv Kumar's Deputy Commission's Deputy Chairman.
64-year-old Arvind Pangariya became the country's first vice president of the Policy Commission. Earlier, he was the head of the Advisory Committee of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
Nagariya has also been a professor of Indian Economics at the University of Columbia, USA, as well as being in the top positions in the World Bank, IMF and ADB.
In the 65 years, the Planning Commission, which was shaped by the 12th Five Year Plan, was made a policy committee. The Planning Commission, the Chairman of the Policy Commission is the Prime Minister.
Also, the Chief Minister and the Union Territories of the Union Territories are included in its Governing Council. In which after Arvind Pangariya, Dr Rajiv Kumar will now take over the post.
