Jagdalpur: Naxal affected areas are very backward. There is less access to essential services. Being a remote settlement, the Government is also not able to reach there properly. The rest of the private sector is not able to reach there for security reasons. Therefore, these areas remain marhous with basic amenities. In Chhattisgarh, the collector posted in Bastar, the Naxal-affected area, Dr. Ayaz Fakirbhai Tamboli has taken up the task of improving the health services of the area. Tamboli, who was a doctor by profession, is originally from Maharashtra.

The 2009 batch of Chhattisgarh cadres was headed by IAS Dr. Tamboli is originally from Maharashtra. Dr. Tamboli's father was a primary teacher and mother was an Anganwadi worker. Studying with two sisters, he completed his medical studies in 2006. The UPSC then got ready. In 2008, UPSC came in at 75th rank. IAS Ayaz Tamboli of 2009 batch is an MBBS doctor. Seeing the poor health care situation in the dense forests, bordering three States, Naxal-affected and inaccessible Bijapur district, he took up the reform.

The Bijapur district hospital was modernised and appointed specialist doctors on the contract. Neo Natal Unit set up in district hospital. The Bijapur District Hospital, which was the first referral centre, underwent about 300 operations in 2017-18. Apart from the district hospital, he changed the condition of the community health centres at Bhairamgarh and Bhopalpatnam. Upgradation of Primary Health Centres in Dhur Naxal areas like Farsegarh, Matwara, Modakpal, Basaguda, Miratur etc.
