From being one of the States most terribly affected by coronavirus to having a recovery rate of 90.57 percent which is higher than the national average, notably Gujarat has made remarkable strides, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said. He interacted with Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Nitinbhai Patel in the company of District Collectors of all the districts and senior health officials.
Going over his statement that the impending winter season and the long festive season create a significant risk that could make threats the gains made against COVID-19, Health Minister said that people should be cautious for the next 3 months. He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of wearing a mask, keeping a physical distance and regular sanitization and hand-washing should reach the last citizen. Dr. Harsh Vardhan recollected that Active cases of covid pandemic are currently around 7.72 lakh which has been less than 10 lakhs for nearly a month. Doubling time has been diluted to 86.3 days and the country will quickly cross the figure of 10 crore cumulative tests, he added.
On the management strategy of COVID in Gujarat, Health minister noted that from being one of the top affected states earlier, Gujarat has indicated remarkable pace to have a recovery rate of 90.57 percent in caparison with the national recovery rate which is at 88.26 percent. Dr.Vardhan also interacted with the District Collectors of Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara, Gandhinagar and Surat which were the most-affected districts and are exposed because of their urban nature. He also took a review of the preventive steps taken in the districts of Jamnagar and Junagadh which have been reporting a surge in positivity in the last couple of weeks.
