New Delhi: The global epidemic of coronavirus is spreading rapidly. Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan will hold a meeting with Health Ministers of 11 states and Union Territories today to review the increase in cases of coronavirus infection. These 11 states include Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Cases of corona are constantly on the rise in these states.

Due to the increase in coronavirus cases, the Centre has constituted 50 high-level public health teams and is being sent to 50 districts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Punjab. The Health Ministry had said on Monday that the teams are being sent to 30 districts of Maharashtra, 11 districts of Chhattisgarh and nine districts of Punjab to assist the state health department and local authorities under corona surveillance, control, and prohibition measures.

The ministry said the teams will visit the states immediately and monitor the entire covid-19 management implementation. Senior central government officials have been made nodal officers for Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Punjab. The high-level team will report to the nodal officers in these three states and maintain coordination with them. The team will submit daily reports on five aspects including investigations, tracing people exposed to infected persons, hospital infrastructure, covid prevention practices, and vaccination.
