New Delhi: Chhattisgarh leader raised questions on the safety of Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin and refused to use it in its public immunization drive, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Thursday said both the vaccines were safe and should be used expeditiously. Dr. Harsh Vardhan has written a letter to them, saying that they should not spread unprovoked sensation in order to divert attention from the case of very small vaccinations in the state of Chhattisgarh.

In fact, Dev had a tweet on Thursday enclosing a letter written for the Center. In this, he expressed concern over the non-completion of Phase III trials of the vaccine and the expiry date on the vaccine vials. He also urged the central government to stop supplying covaxin in Chhattisgarh until these issues are resolved.

In response to this, Dr. Harsh Vardhan has given detailed information to Dev in his letter that all the vaccines sent to the states are safe and immune and should be used rapidly. This Congress-ruled state has been objecting to covaxin ever since covaxin was approved by the Emergency Use Authority (EUA) in the country on 3 January.
