New Delhi: Talking about the recent surge in corona infection cases, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Saturday asked people not to let their war against the virus weaken and keep their guard strong so that the situation does not become deadly. Dr. Harsh Vardhan said on Saturday, "Now that vaccines have become available, people feel that they should not wear masks. Most people hang masks around their necks, some keep it in their pockets and some do not use it."

Dr. Harsh Vardhan further said that corona cases have started growing again in some places of the country for the past few days and the people's laxity towards infection is the root cause. He said that "If we follow the corona protocol, the coronavirus will gradually be removed from the country and the world." He further said, "I would like to urge the people of the country not to ignore the corona guidelines at any cost. Maintaining social dissing, applying masks and washing hands with soap are probably the biggest means of winning the battle against the corona."

He also said that the two vaccines developed in the country are completely safe and effective. The vaccination campaign should be a mass movement.  He said vaccines are available at 50,000 government and private health centers in the country. He said that priority groups have been determined keeping in view the scientific criteria and after studying the behavior of the corona.
