Aligarh: Dr. Kafeel, who was out on bail in the death of children due to lack of oxygen at BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur, has been put behind bars once again. He has been jailed in the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for delivering an inflammatory speech on 12 December.

Civil line police reached Dr. Kafeel on transit remand from Mumbai to Aligarh on Friday. During this time, the accused were produced in the court from where he has been taken to judicial custody and sent to Mathura jail for security reasons. He is accused of inciting students in the name of communalism and making controversial remarks against the Home Minister in the AMU meeting. Dr. Kafeel attended the meeting on 12 December at the AMU along with Swaraj India President Yogendra Yadav. Police had registered a case of inciting religious sentiments at Civil Lines police station on 13 December.

Since then the search for Dr. Kafeel was going on. On Thursday, UP STF arrested him from Mumbai. CO Civil Line Anil Samanya has told that the police team presented the accused in court and took him to Aligarh on Friday evening on transit remand. While presenting the accused in court and accepting remand, the accused was taken to judicial custody and sent to jail for 14 days.
