New Delhi: Dr M Srinivas has been appointed as the new director of AIIMS Delhi. He will replace Dr Randeep Guleria. Let us inform you that Srinivas till now was the Dean of ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Hyderabad. Dr Guleria's term was to end on March 24, but his term was extended by three months till June 24, 2022, as the PM Modi-led panel was in the process of scrutinizing candidates for the post of the chief.

The final decision on the name of the new director of AIIMS was taken by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by PM Modi. The members of this committee include Delhi University Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, Biotechnology Department Secretary Rajesh S Gokhale, and Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government K Vijay Raghavan.

Let us inform you that as the director of AIIMS, Guleria's suggestions regarding the corona epidemic were not only accepted by the people, but in many ways, Guleria had also cleared the confusion. Guleria, a plumologist by profession, has also done a lot of in-depth research regarding the ill-effects of pollution on the lungs. In the third wave, on the issue of oxygen shortage, the political arrows were also fiercely raised on Guleria's oxygen-deficient tweet.
