New Delhi: Former India captain “Mr. Dependable” Rahul Dravid  who is at present coach of the India's under-19 team, on Sunday night (July 1) was inducted into the high-status list of ICC Hall of Fame .

Besides Rahul, Two-time World Cup winning Australian skipper Ricky Ponting, and 2009 ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year Claire Taylor were the latest additions into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. All of them were inducted at a ceremony in Dublin on Sunday night.

Rahul Dravid is only the fourth Indian to be part of the cream of the crop group which features Bishan Singh Bedi, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, and Anil Kumble.

"It is a great honour and privilege to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I am thankful to the ICC for giving me this honour. It is a privilege to be among a group of people I have looked up to and I have admired as a young man growing up in the journey as a cricketer. I'd love to be able to thank so many people who have made it possible for me to have a career in the sport and to fulfil my dreams. My parents, my family, my two kids, my so many friends, colleagues that I have played with, and played against that enriched my game. My many coaches right from the time I was in school and the coaches I have played for in India have really helped me to develop as a cricketer," Rahul Dravid addressed in his acceptance speech.

Rahul Dravid is one of only seven players, including Australian skipper Ponting, to have done the double of 10,000 Test and ODI runs; the only other Indian to have done it alongside him is Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. He was the first addressee of the ICC Cricketer of the Year award in 2004.
