Lucknow: Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Chairman G. Sateesh Reddy has said that "DRDO is working closely with 1800 industries. By working on modern techniques, many weapons have been developed so far. These weapons will soon be handed over to the army. The process of working on new technology will continue."

Speaking to the media, Chairman Reddy said, "Make in India is an opportunity for DRDO. It works on native technology. Till now we have manufactured many defense products together with Laffey Industries. The manufacturing of the Akash missile to 2500 crore is a great example of this. With this, we are working with 1800 Industries. With our technology, the industry prepares defense products, this is Make in India. That is why the work of DRDO will continue in India".

He has further said that "These industries are operating Tier-1, Tier-2, Tier-3 type industries with some technology from us. So far, we have transferred over 900 tech industries". 1500 technology has been transferred to 17 industries on Sunday too. So far this year, 40 technologies transferred to Indian Industries.
