New Delhi: In the coming time, the festival of Diwali will be celebrated in the country. Fireworks are done fiercely on this occasion. In view of this, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence i.e. DRI has warned about the dangerous crackers. The DRI said that the illegal arrival of dangerous crackers has started in the country. According to the DRI, import of firecrackers is completely prohibited under the Foreign Trade Policy. In this regard, the letter sent to intelligence agencies said that crackers coming from China are harmful to health and the environment.

According to the directorate, only firecrackers can be imported in the country who have a license. Fireworks made in China are not only dangerous for the environment but also violate the Explosives Act 2008. A number of harmful chemicals have been used in these firecrackers, including banned red lead, copper oxide and lithium. Due to such harmful chemicals present in these firecrackers, many states have banned them.

According to the directorate, Chinese companies are looking towards the Indian market to meet their annual business targets. It has come to light that some traders are trying to get firecrackers illegally. In view of this, the directorate has asked all the investigation and intelligence agencies to keep an eye on the goods coming from China. Actually Chinese crackers are cheaper than Indian crackers.
