Ajay Devgn is back with ‘Drishyam 2’, the sequel to the 2015 blockbuster ‘Drishyam’. Since the first of movie was released in news. The movie is doing very well at Box Office even after two weeks of its release. New Bollywood films Bhediya and An Action Hero are unable to draw audiences to the theaters and the numbers continue to drop by the day. Drishyam 2, on the other hand, has maintained a steady pace.
According to Box office reports, The crime thriller will easily surpass Rs 200 crore over the weekend. Having raked in Rs 3.05 crore on Monday, Rs 2.53 crore on Tuesday, and Rs 2.11 crore on Wednesday, the film has collected a total of Rs 194.45 crore, just a few steps away from the Rs 200 crore mark.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Drishyam2 is expected to gather momentum, yet again, during the weekend… Will also hit ₹ 200 cr in Weekend 4… [Week 3] Fri 4.45 cr, Sat 8.45 cr, Sun 10.39 cr, Mon 3.05 cr, Tue 2.53 cr, Wed 2.11 cr. Total: ₹ 194.45 cr. #India biz.”
Drishyam, the Hindi remake of hit Malayalam flick of the same name, was helmed by National-Award-winning director Nishikant Kamat, who died in 2020 at 50. Most of the original cast, including Tabu as feisty top cop Meera Deshmukh, will be reprising their roles in the sequel. Tabu, Dutta and Saran reprise their roles along with Devgn in ‘Drishyam 2’. The sequel will also star Akshaye Khanna. This movie marks the second collaboration of Khanna and Devgn after 20 years. The sequel is breaking all the records.
