Drought-like conditions in Chhattisgarh, farmers' problems escalate!

Raipur: Drought-like conditions have developed in Chhattisgarh. As 18 out of 27 districts in the state have recorded less than 50% less rainfall than normal. People in these districts of the state are waiting for water but there has not been proper rain so far. This has created drought-like conditions in the districts. The biggest problem is the farmers, who are sitting in the counter-water throughout the year, but due to lack of good rains, the ridges of concern are visible on the foreheads of these farmers.

According to the data released by the Meteorological Department, Surguja in Chhattisgarh has recorded 57% less rainfall as of July 27 in Jashpur and Bemetara. With less rainfall, the state is facing drought in about 67% of the area and farmers are once again facing difficulties. There are speculations that the debt burden on farmers may increase this year.

With these figures of deficient rainfall, the concerns of both the administration and the government, including the general public of Chhattisgarh, have increased and the government is considering what the government should plan to deal with if drought-like conditions arise in the state.
