Telangana: On Sunday, Telangana police confiscated 120 kilogrammes of ganja and 2 litres of hashish oil from four drug peddlers who were unlawfully carrying the contraband from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, to Hyderabad.
"On Sunday, after a tip, the Special Operations Team (SOT) halted a car at the Nalgonda flyover bridge under Bhongir Town police station and nabbed four men for unlawfully trafficking Ganja and Hash oil," said Mahesh Bhagwat, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police (CP).
The accused were to sell the drugs at exorbitant prices to local drug peddlers, according to the CP.
"One of the accused, Sriram, has been doing house-breaks in various sections of the city to get easy money and this time formed a plan to earn easy money by trafficking Ganja from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad, where the drugs are in high demand," Bhagwat stated.
"The accused were found with 120 kgs of Ganja, two litres of hashish oil, a car, and mobile phones worth Rs 35 lakhs," Bhagwat said.
