Drugs racket in Punjab Police Academy, five constables detained

Amritsar: A case of drug smuggling has come to light at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy. A woman drug peddler has been arrested in connection with the smuggling at the police academy in Phillaur here. Five policemen have been detained. At the moment, all of them are being questioned.

Last week, the smuggling of drugs was revealed in the Punjab Police Academy. Head constable Shakti Kumar and a water carrier were questioned in the case. Both of them were also arrested for drug trafficking. Later, the role of other policemen came to light in the interrogation and arrests were made. According to police sources, all these accused may soon undergo dope tests. It is being told that other employees of the academy may also come under the scanner in the drug smuggling case. The police are investigating the entire gang. Their relationship is also being ascertained.  
 
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab has launched a campaign against drugs. The government has also promised to make the state drug-free. A day earlier, CM Bhagwant Mann took out the biggest cycle rally against drugs in Sangrur. CM Mann said at the event that a rally is being taken out to make Punjab back to Punjab again. The youth who are in the quagmire of intoxication will get them out of the wrong way. They will get them treated and later they will also give them employment.
