Mumbai: The Mumbai Police raided a pharmaceutical company at Nalasopara in the Palghar district. During the raid, the Mumbai Police found mephedrone (drugs) of over 700 kg worth Rs 1400 crore. Police also arrested five people during the raid. The action was taken by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch. The cell said the raid was conducted on the basis of intelligence inputs. They had received information that a banned drug called Mephedrone was being made in the company.
The ANC official said that four of the accused have been arrested in Mumbai. While one person was nabbed from Nallasopara in Palghar. The Crime Branch claims that this is the biggest action taken against drugs in the last few days. Mephedrone is also known as 'Meow Meow' or MD. It's a synthetic drug. It is a banned substance under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Agency officials had recovered 2,988.22 kg of heroin from there. The connection of this consignment of drugs was found from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
