New Delhi: At the moment elections are going on in the country, the Delhi High Court dismissed the petition seeking cancellation of the election of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to be held on April 25. The High Court cited the reason for the dismissal of the petition as a growing case of corona infection.
The High Court said that when the decision to hold elections has been taken and the election process is not stopped even after the number of infected people in the city has increased, the court will not interfere in such policy matters. A bench of Justices Rajiv Sahai Endlaw and Justice Amit Bansal said, "The Central Government along with the Delhi Government is already taking all decisions to stop the corona from spreading".
At the same time, the court said that apart from the general guidelines of the governments, every institution is also taking steps on its own to prevent the spread of corona. The bench said in its order on 8 April, "We are confident that not only will the Delhi government issue a guideline to prevent the infection from spreading due to the elections, but also the DSGMC take all possible decisions to ensure that the corona transition from holding elections Do not spread '. Petitioners Jagmohan Singh and Manjeet Singh Chugh sent a letter to the Chief Justice on 7 April and this was later taken as a petition. The petitioners are voters in the list of Directorate of Gurdwara Elections.
