Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has recently taken a step to completely block the import of 101 products in defense sectors. So that the PM's campaign for 'Self-reliant India' can be strengthened, and indigenous products can be included in the world's fourth largest Indian Army. However, a large number of indigenous defense products are being given preference except a few devices.

The same army and central security forces of our country are already using indigenously built vehicles for road transport, including war vehicles and logistics. Tata is making these vehicles exclusively for the army. After Maruti Gypsy, Tata Merlin and Tata Safari have made a place in the Indian Army. The roof of the Merlin has a 7.6 mm medium machine gun and a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher.

In addition, it also helps in the supply of military squads with ease. Merlin provides STANAG 4569 Level-1 protection on both sides and back, the highest among NATO's STANAG 4569 Level-1 Standards. The Tata Merlin has a 3.3-liter liquid cool direct injection engine. Which generates 185 Bhp at 3,200 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 2,400 rpm. With this, it will give a boost to the campaign of self-reliant India, and this help will be greatly strengthened.
