Drug addiction is becoming an enemy of the lives of youth in the country. Young people are getting more prey. According to the National Crime Records Bureau, between 2017-19, over 2,300 people lost their lives due to high intoxication which has the highest number of people in the age group of 30 to 45.

Rajasthan records the highest number of 338 deaths: According to NCRB, 745 people have lost their lives due to high intoxication in 2017. After which 875 died in 2018 and 704 in 2019. According to the data, the highest number of 338 people died in Rajasthan. This was followed by 239 deaths in Karnataka and 236 in Uttar Pradesh.

Death of 55 children under the age group of 14 years: It has been learned that the number of people in the age group 30-45 who died due to high intoxication in the 3 years ie between 2017-19 was 784. At the same time, 55 children under the age of 14 died and 70 teenagers in the age group of 14-18 years died. According to the figures, 624 people aged 18-30 years and 550 people aged 45-60 years have lost their lives due to this reason. At the same time, 241 people aged 60 years or older died.

Drug-free India campaign going on in 272 districts: According to the information received, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment recently started the 'Drug-Free India Campaign' (NMBA) in 272 very affected districts to tackle the problem of drug abuse. The program included access to narcotics bureaux, drug addicts, and awareness by the Department of Social Justice and their treatment by the Department of Health.
